Air conditioners explained

Air conditioners and refrigerators work the same way. Instead of cooling just the small, insulated space inside of a refrigerator, an air conditioner cools a room, a whole house, or an entire business. Air conditioners use chemicals that easily convert from a gas to a liquid and back again. This chemical is used to transfer heat from the air inside of a home to the outside air.  The machine has three main parts. They are a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator.

JT Air Conditioning has been established since 1994. Prior to that we were in the carpentry business. That building knowledge is invaluable knowing what construction is inside walls floors and ceilings.

We started contracting to larger Air Conditioning companies but quickly went on our own. We have always prided ourselves on quality of works, using the best products available. We are always looking for better quality materials. We have been in Air Conditioning now for over 20 years now.

One cause of indoor air contamination is due to bacterial and fungal contamination of air filters, heat transfer coils and duct-work within air conditioning systems that are poorly designed and maintained.

Air passes through dust filters prior to being cooled at the cooling coil and blown out from the air conditioner. Dust filters are usually intended to remove larger particles that would foul the cooling coil and aren't effective at removing small (respirable) airborne particles. As the larger particles are trapped by the filter, they form a layer that Improves the removal of repairable particles, but at the same time they reduce the air flow and (If they become wet) provide nutrients for fungi and mould to grow inside the air conditioner. Also, when air cools at the coil, It drops Its moisture to the coil surface and If this Is not allowed to drain away, fungi and bacteria can grow there too. Since the building air Is being circulated through this system, fungi and mould spores and bacteria and odorous VOCs are released through the use of the air conditioner and contaminate the air.

Just wanted to put something in writing to express our appreciation for the fantastic service you provided during yesterday’s heatwave. I was pretty much at my wit’s end, discovering an overnight electrical storm had knocked out our aircon. Temperatures were predicted to reach high 30s and I needed to keep my elderly, ailing mother comfortably cool all day or have her to admitted to hospital.

The restart instructions in the owner’s manual got me nowhere so having you willing to take my call at a ridiculously early hour was a big relief – and then to talk me through getting our system functioning well enough to get cool air pumping again, well that was pure gold.

Despite it being such a crazy day dealing with everyone else’s AC emergencies too, you were at our door by midday with a new remote to hopefully sorts things out. As it turned out, something else was at fault but it seemed doubtful replacement parts would still be available for our 15-year-old Carrier system – nevertheless, somehow you managed to source and order the required component before you headed off with a promise to return when it comes in.

So all thanks to you, we got through a dreadful day – that alone would make our investment in 15 years of annual servicing of our aircon system by JT Airconditioning seem well worthwhile. But I reckon the cherry on top was hearing that, after all that TLC every year, our system still looks brand new inside.
